Brockton, MA 3rd Alarm Central Square
Brockton FAO Struck Box 2112 while receiving calls for a building fire with residents trapped on the 3rd floor. Engines 2, 5, Squad A, Engine 4 as RIT, Ladders 2 and 1 under Command of Deputy Chief Galligan responded. Engine 2 arrived with heavy fire showing from exposure 4 side and ordered a 2nd Alarm. Engine 7, Medic 1, CA5 and FS7 responded on the 2nd alarm. Engine 2 stretched a 2 1/2" line and began knocking down the heavy overlapping fire as Ladder 2 threw grounds ladders to the 3rd floor front windows and rescued 5 residents. Second Alarm crews arrived and assisted in removing other residents from the building and attacking the fire. Dc Galligan ordered a 3rd alarm with Engine 3, West Bridgewater Engine and Ladder 4 were dispatched. Several lines were stretched to the interior and began in interior attack. The fire was quickly knocked down. Coverage in the city was Avon Engine @ Station 1, Easton Engine @ Station 2, Stoughton Engine @ Station 3 and Whitman Ladder 246 @ Station 1.
