Whitman, MA 5th Alarm Commercial St.

Whitman ff's responded to a reported fire in an apartment about 19:50 hours. Crews arrived to heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor of a 2 1/2 story dwelling. A 2nd alarm was struck with Hanson, E Bridgewater and Abington Engines and a Brockton Ladder to the fire. Chief Gerno assumed command and struck a 3rd alarm about 10 minutes later. The fire rapidly extended thru the structure. An interior attack was started but members were quicked force out by heavy fire. Hanover, Bridgewater and Halifax sent engines to the fire. Ladder pipes from Whitman and Brockton operated as well as several handlines. A 4th aalrm was transmitted with Brockton , E. Bridgewater and Abington sending engines to the scene ans a E. Bridgewater Tower. As crews continued an exterior attack a 5th Alarm was transmitted with W, Bridgewater and Holbrook engines responded into the stssging aera.
