Brockton, MA 3rd Alarm Sylvester St.
Brockton FAO transmitted Box 4112 after receiving several calls reporting a dwelling fire. Engines 4, 7, 5, Ladder 1 and Car 56 were due with Ladder 1 arriving with smoke showing from a 1 1/2 story house. Car 56 under command of Deputy Chief Joseph Matched to arrived and requested a working fire assignment. Squad A and Ladder 2 responded. Heavy fire spread turnout the house. Crews were withdrawn from the building as a 2nd alarm was transmitted. Engine 7 responded on the 2nd. Heavy smoke and fire continue inside as an exterior attack was mounted. A 3rd alarm was transmitted with Engine 2, Holbrook Engine 1 and Ladder 4 were due. It took several hours the extinguish the blaze. Heavy machinery was brought in to tear the house down.
