Duxbury, MA 'Water Rescue" 3/15/2013
While working from a 6 wheel "alligator" in the harbor water along side the Powder Point Bridge at low tide, the vehicle somehow got stuck. The crew got to shore and then drove a pickup truck into the slowly rising water in an attempt to free the "alligator". The truck then became stuck but the alligator was freed and the crew took it to shore where they got a backhoe. When trying to free the pickup, the backhoe got stuck, and thats when the Fire Department, Harbor Master, EDP and an assortment of other state agencies got involved. Booms were set up around the two vehicles to contain any fuel that might be leaking from spreading. As the tide came in the vehicles slowly became submerged. Heavy wrecker and machinery will be brought to the scene in an attempt to free the vehicles at the next low tide.
