Newark NJ October 12, 1981 was a great night for buffing the city. The 1st fire was in a commercial block at Raymond Blvd & Halsey St featuring a shoe store and pizza shop which went to 3 alarms plus. The second blaze was a vacant factory on Shipman, which we arrived with the 1st due Engine and it went to a 2nd alarm. The last fire of the night was a 2nd alarm for a tire yard on Ave P, which was fought by all mutual aid companies.
